15th August Vashan in English By Moynul Islam Shah

Honorable Guests, Respected Teachers, Dear Students, and Fellow Citizens,

Good morning to everyone present here. Today, we gather to celebrate a momentous occasion in the history of our nation—the 77th Independence Day of India. It is with immense pride and gratitude that I stand before you to commemorate this day, a day that marks the end of colonial rule and the birth of a free and independent India.

On this auspicious day in 1947, India broke free from the chains of British rule, after a prolonged struggle characterized by unparalleled courage, determination, and sacrifice. We owe our freedom to the countless heroes and freedom fighters who fought tirelessly and selflessly. Leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Subhas Chandra Bose, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and many others, whose names may not be as widely known, played pivotal roles in our journey to independence.

Independence Day is not just a day to remember our past, but also a day to reflect on our present and envision our future. Our freedom came at a great cost, and it is our duty to honor the legacy of our forebears by upholding the values of democracy, justice, equality, and fraternity. We must strive to build an India that they would be proud of—an India that stands as a beacon of peace, progress, and prosperity.

Since 1947, India has made remarkable strides in various fields. We have established ourselves as a thriving democracy and a global leader in science, technology, and innovation. Our space program, represented by ISRO, has achieved incredible milestones, including the successful Mars Orbiter Mission. We are making significant progress in healthcare, education, and infrastructure, and our economy is one of the fastest-growing in the world.

However, as we celebrate our achievements, we must also acknowledge the challenges that lie ahead. Poverty, inequality, corruption, and environmental degradation continue to pose significant obstacles to our development. It is imperative that we address these issues with a sense of urgency and commitment. The vision of a truly free and prosperous India can only be realized when every citizen enjoys the fruits of progress and no one is left behind.

On this Independence Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to the ideals that our freedom fighters cherished. Let us pledge to work together, irrespective of our differences, to build an India that is inclusive, equitable, and sustainable. Every small act of kindness, every effort towards community service, every contribution to the betterment of society counts in this journey.

To the young students present here, you are the future of our nation. The responsibility of carrying forward the legacy of our freedom fighters rests on your shoulders. Educate yourselves, stay informed, and contribute positively to society. Remember that the freedom we enjoy today is a result of immense sacrifices, and it is our collective responsibility to protect and nurture it.

In conclusion, as we hoist the tricolor and sing our national anthem, let us feel a renewed sense of pride and patriotism. Let us celebrate the spirit of freedom and democracy that defines our great nation. And most importantly, let us work towards a future where every Indian can live with dignity, security, and hope.

Jai Hind! Vande Mataram!

Thank you.
